Sensory World!

It seems like we are constantly going to evaluations lately..lolol… I
don't know if you remember but her school is going to test her for a
learning disability, and we got the speech.language report back today

This is what the findings were

Noelle has weakness in the area of segmantics.( vocabulary) and
processing. Specifically difficulty was noted with her ability to
identify categories ,state labels, functions ,and definitions. Noelle
also had difficulty recalling details, reasoning, and understanding
messages….The testing information does indicate a signifigant language
delay that would interfere with her performance in the regular
classroom. Therefore Noelle is a child with a disability in the area
of speech and Language impairment and is in need or specially designed
instruction.

And then with everything thats going on with Silas i just feel blue
today...:(

Dana, the evaluation process is so hard, especially when you have to go to multiple ones and it feels like you are being passed from professional to professional. In the end, the answers you get don't always make you feel to great either. So I can understand why you are feeling blue. But, having that information will help with Noelle's experience in school. If you understand what is going on, you can be a better advocate. If her teachers understand, hopefully they can be better teachers and more inclusive curriculum planners. How old is Noelle btw?
